Library Programs

Below you'll find a selection of some of the raucously fun library programming
I've had the pleasure of facilitating.

Teen Improv Club

Every week, I'd meet with the group to teach them improvisational acting games and exercises. We worked on skills like scene-building, working with a partner, and developing characters. And we laughed a lot!

Chocolate Olympics

This is definitely one of my all-time most successful (and well-attended programs). I set up several challenge stations that the teens could bounce around, including Sorting M&Ms, Whopper Relay, Chocolate Pictionary, and Marshmallow Towers (seen here.)

Triwizard Tournament

An after-hours library program that was part of a group project for my graduate program, this was a ton of work and absolutely legendary fun. There were activity stations on each of the floors of the library, including the Hedge Maze in the stacks (seen below) a Lake Diving challenge (seen below), Cryptography, Stealing a Dragon's Egg, and more. There were also snacks. Obviously. The teens were so engaged that no behavior issues came up during the 2.5 hours they were at the library.

End of Summer Reading Popcorn Party!

Every Super Reader summer ends with a popcorn party at each of the 70+ sites served by the library outreach consultants. It's a beast to organize, but I can thank the Education & Outreach staff for the great job they do in making it happen, and making my job fun. I get to arrive at the site with boxes of book prizes and a person-sized bag of popcorn to party with the kids and teachers as they celebrate the accomplishment of 15+ hours of reading!
